Kalimat dengan struktur Simple Present Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan kebiasaan (habitual action) dan kebenaran umum (general truth). Time signal yang digunakan adalah sebagai berikut:

• Always 
• Often 
• Usually 
• Generally 
• Habitually 
• Seldom 
• Rarely 
• Never 
• Occasionaly 
• Everyday /week, etc 
• Once/twice a… 

Berikut adalah struktur kalimat Simple Present Tense:
Bentuk Verbal: Kalimat positif
(+):  Subject (S) + V1 (s/es) + O Kalimat negatif
(-): Subject (S) +do/does +  not + V1 Kalimat interogatif
(?): do/ does+Subject + V1 ?  

Bentuk Nominal: Kalimat positif
(+):  Subject (S)+ is/am/are + adjective/adverb/noun Kalimat negatif
(-): Subject (S)+(is/am/are)+not+ adjective/adverb/noun Kalimat interogatif
(?): is/am/are+S+ adjective/adverb/noun ? 
Contoh
(+):  Iqbal likes ice cream 
(-):  Iqbal doesn’t  like ice cream  
(?):  Does Iqbal like ice cream? 

(+):  Husna goes to campuss every monday 
(-):  Husna doesn’t go to campuss every monday      
(?):  Does Husna go to campus every Monday?
